How to search

The search function returns results by default from the entire website.

Quick search (on every page)

The quick search returns pages that include all of your search terms. It searches the pages that are in the same language as the site you are on. The Boolean operator ’AND’ is automatically added between the search words. Search by using just part of a word is possible (e.g. governme). An asterisk or another such character is not needed.

Advanced search

With all of the words - The document must include all of your search terms. The Boolean operator ’AND’ is automatically added.

With at least one of the words - The document must include at least one of your search terms. The Boolean operator ’OR’ is automatically added.

With all the words in the sequence they were entered - The document must include all of your search terms in the sequence they were entered.

Order of presentation - The search results are presented in order of publication, in alphabetical order by title or by document type (e.g. press release, speech, Valtioneuvoston viikko publication).

The time frame is used to specify the time of publication for the documents. In addition to the time options given, it is possible to mark a specific time frame. The dates must be marked in the form dd.mm.yyyy (e.g. 1.12.2007).

The search can be specified also by other options (such as language, document type, and publisher).
